Radikal! brings together more than sixty women artists from over twenty countries to reconsider Modernism as polyphonic, international, and often contradictory. Regardless of origin or visual language, these artists pursued new forms of expression and representation and argued forcefully for equality. Their practices range from abstract to figurative, from critical to activist, and they responded to the upheavals of their time with urgency and clarity.
The exhibition foregrounds individual artistic voices instead of linear style labels, showing how identities beyond standardized roles were imagined and asserted. Paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures, textile designs, film, and photography open fresh perspectives on the diversity and simultaneity of Modernism.
